Two of North America’s leading sustainable aviation fuel producers have joined forces. Montana Renewables, LLC — a Calumet Inc. subsidiary and one of North America’s largest dedicated SAF producers — and World Energy, a pioneer in advanced biofuels with over 25 years in the sector, have announced a strategic partnership and 70 million gallon SAF supply agreement.
Montana Renewables currently produces approximately 30 million gallons of SAF per year from its facility in Great Falls, Montana, using its MaxSAF® SPK technology, with capacity expected to increase significantly over the next two to three years. World Energy operates major biofuel facilities in California and the Gulf Coast, with $15 billion in new projects underway.
Under the agreement, Montana Renewables will supply SAF to World Energy for distribution through its network, giving airlines and corporate customers improved access to verified, domestically produced fuel. Both companies hold rigorous sustainability certifications: Montana Renewables carries ISCC CORSIA and RSB certifications, while World Energy’s SAF is certified under CORSIA and RSB Global standards.
Montana Renewables is a SAF leader in North America, producing approximately 30 million gallons of SPK per year — with capacity to significantly increase that amount over the next 2-3 years.
The partnership reflects growing commercial momentum behind North American SAF supply chains, as airlines accelerate voluntary commitments and corporate customers face increasing pressure to demonstrate verifiable emissions reductions across their logistics operations.
World Energy noted the deal is part of a broader strategy to scale SAF availability cost-effectively, emphasizing transparent, traceable carbon accounting that cannot be double-counted.
