DUBAI, UAE — Jetex, a global leader in private aviation, has been appointed as the exclusive ground handler and provider of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at Dubai Airshow 2025. This collaboration positions sustainability at the forefront, with SAF made available for aircraft on display—a key step in the event’s drive toward net-zero practices.
The partnership includes servicing all aircraft on static display using electric and propane-powered ground support equipment to further cut emissions. Complementing this, the airshow will incorporate solar-powered infrastructure and circular economy practices, building on Jetex’s 2023 milestone as the first to offer SAF to private aviation customers in the UAE. In a sector where SAF uptake is critical yet limited—representing under 1% of global jet fuel per IATA figures—this event demonstrates operational integration, potentially informing similar deployments at international airshows.
“Jetex was the first to offer SAF to private aviation customers in the United Arab Emirates in 2023. Our environment strategy focuses on reducing carbon emissions, recycling and adapting the latest green technologies across the global network, and we are pleased to be able to supply it at the Dubai Airshow,” said Adel Mardini, Founder & CEO of Jetex.
For FBOs, event organizers, and policymakers, these measures provide insights into hybrid models that combine SAF with low-emission technologies to reduce on-ground carbon impacts, which can be substantial in large-scale events. This is especially pertinent in the MENA region, with aviation expansion forecasted at 5-6% annually by ICAO, where bolstering SAF infrastructure could support regional hubs for green fuel distribution and compliance with global standards like CORSIA.
While SAF premiums (2-4x fossil fuel costs) and supply constraints remain hurdles, such high-visibility applications can de-risk adoption by validating logistics and partnerships. Businesses may find value in leveraging these for regulatory alignment and appealing to sustainability-focused clientele in executive aviation.
