Saint Paul, MN – The North American SAF Conference & Expo is calling all innovative startups in the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) sector to participate in Pitch Day on September 13, 2024. This event offers a unique opportunity for startups to showcase their products and services to a panel of judges and potential investors, with the ultimate goal of securing funding to further their business ventures.
Startups selected for Pitch Day will have a chance to present their pitch in one of two 90-minute sessions. Each finalist will receive 10 minutes to present their business followed by a 10-minute Q&A session with the panel of judges and investors. While only one startup will be selected to compete in the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco, all participants will have the opportunity to attract investment from attending investors.
“Pitch Day is an incredible opportunity for startups in the SAF industry to gain exposure and secure funding,” said Marla DeFoe, organizer of the event. “Not only can startups receive direct investment, but they also have the chance to compete on a global stage at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale.”

To apply for Pitch Day, startups must submit their pitch deck to Marla DeFoe at [email protected] by August 16, 2024. A steering committee will review the submissions and select six finalists, who will be announced on August 30, 2024.
Opportunities for Angel Investors
Investors looking to support emerging technologies in the SAF industry are also encouraged to attend Pitch Day. To qualify as an investor, individuals must meet the criteria of an “accredited investor” as defined by the federal securities laws. This includes having a net worth exceeding $1 million, excluding the value of their primary residence, or an annual income exceeding $200,000 for the past two years.
